  1. Thing that made me cry/laugh. (This one is really awfully silly. Mainly for anyone stressed by trying to accommodate a large and unforgiving dinner crowd this year.)

TWIL (This Week I Learned.)

This  week I learned that most likely, the more challenges you have faced through life, the stronger you may be able to become…with lots and lots of work (read: work = therapy/mindfulness training).

Quote

“Life is difficult. This is a great truth, one of  the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we truly see this  truth, we transcend it. Once we truly know that life is difficult-once  we truly understand and accept it-then life is no longer difficult.  Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer  matters.”  —  M. Scott Peck,  The Road Less Traveled

Prompt

If I could … write three wishes you really think would make your life better. (no wishing for more wishes :) )

Quest

Make a map of your failures indicating the rough date they occurred. Write beside each one what you learned. (This is from the philosopher Alain de Botton)

  1. POD (Poem of the day — links to the Poetry Foundation Audio Poem of the Day
  2. Song (Deep focus.)
  3. Hero: Glennon Doyle, Founder of Momastery
Why?   She took an untenable situation and turned it into a revolution of vulnerability and authenticity.
Her words: “We look at our lives, relationships, and world and wonder: Wasn’t it all supposed to be more beautiful than this?  We  quickly silence that question, telling ourselves to be grateful. We  hide our simmering discontent — even from ourselves. Until we reach our  boiling point.”
